Five Women's Tennis Players Recognized for ITA All-Academic Team

TEMPE, Ariz. (July 18, 2019) – Five members of the Caltech women's tennis team have been recognized as 2019 All-Academic Teams and Scholar-Athletes per an Intercollegiate Tennis Association announcement on Thursday. Multi-time honorees include senior Kana Moriyama (Redmond, Wash. / Redmond) and sophomore Sarina Liu (Rolling Hills, Calif. / Palos Verdes Peninsula), the former of which has now earned scholar-athlete status in each of her four years with the team.

Women's List

To become an ITA scholar-athlete, the following criteria must be met: The athlete must be a varsity letter winner have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman through senior year). 

The women's tennis team recently concluded a highly successful season year where it achieved the highest year-end national ranking in the history of the both Caltech tennis programs.
