The Beavers matched their season-high goal total for the fourth time in their first match Sunday.  The Scots shot out of the gates to a 5-0 lead before Majumdar scored an exclusion goal.  She added the Beavers' second tally early in the second quarter, but Macalester stretched out to a 13-2 lead by halftime.

Majumdar completed the hat trick on Caltech's first possession of the second half and senior Monica Enlow (Suwanee, Ga. / North Gwinnett) chipped in another at the 5:32 mark.  Senior Jing Xu (Mountain View, Calif. / Los Altos) tallied the Beavers' final goal to open the fourth quarter.

VMI stormed out to an 11-0 lead to start the final game of the day.  Majumdar again netted the Beavers' first goal midway through the second quarter and junior Soumya Kannan (Palo Alto, Calif. / Henry M Gunn) got on the board late in the period as VMI led 12-2 at the half.

The Keydets extended the margin to 15 at 17-2 before Caltech struck again, with Kannan converting a penalty after making a heads-up pass toward an open freshman Carly Robison (Saratoga, Calif. / Castilleja) that was interfered with by a VMI player who was late leaving play after an exclusion.  Kannan completed the hat trick with a strike at the 5:19 mark in the fourth quarter.

Head Coach Pat Beemer and the Beavers will host Washington & Jefferson College (5-6) on Wednesday, Mar. 18 at 5:00 p.m.
