Women's Polo Scores Three Late at Chapman

ORANGE, Calif. (Apr. 14, 2018) – The Caltech women's water polo team found a groove offensively in the fourth quarter where they scored three of their four goals against Chapman University on Saturday afternoon.

Junior Katie Johnson (Livermore, Calif. / Livermore) finished the day with another three-goal outing, with two of her goals coming in the second half. Junior Hana Keller had the Beavers' other goal of the day, which came at just under the six-minute mark in the fourth period.

The Beavers continued to put their improved defensive focus on display with both goalies, sophomore Sarah Kreider (River Forest, Ill. / Oak Park and River Forest) and freshman Elaine Lowinger (North Miami, Fla. / Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Biscayne Bay Campus) making big saves in both halves of the game. Senior Devi Ganapathi (La Crescenta, Calif. / Crescenta Valley) assisted on one of Johnston's goals and picked up a crucial field block to thwart a Panthers' powerplay.

Head Coach Jon Bonafede and the Beavers will finish the 2018 season at Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Wednesday, Apr. 18 at 4 p.m.
