LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. (June 20, 2022) – As the country celebrates and reflects on the groundbreaking legislation set forth by Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, Caltech Director of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation, Betsy Mitchell shared her thoughts and experiences on this groundbreaking legislation in an interview with the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Mitchell believes the opportunities made available by Title IX played a significant part in her personal and professional journeys in many different ways, and she emphasizes the critical need for continuing to educate young people about the importance of Title IX's protections in the greater context of our nation's history.
