PASADENA, Calif. — Caltech Men's Swim & Dive will bring in eight new student-athletes from the Class of 2028 as the team embarks on the 2024-25 campaign.
The incoming Beavers will look to make a significant impact on an already-strong group who
this past season finished top-4 at the
SCIAC Championships for the third straight year. The squad also picked up six dual meet victories, including one over
a Division II opponent and five over interconference foes. The Beavers additionally won the four-team
Caltech Invite back in November.
At the individual level, five Beavers collected
All-SCIAC honors; the season ended with
eight new school records and
54 program top-10 times or scores.
With head coach
Andrew Brabson at the helm, the Beavers will strive to continue its immense success as they integrate this talented group of newcomers this season.

Athan Boutakidis
Claremont, Calif. / Flintridge Prep
Club: Rose Bowl Aquatics
Boutakidis will bring a slew of impressive times to Pasadena as he competes in his first collegiate season. The newcomer will focus on the 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly, among other events.
Rishi Bhargava
St. Paul, Minn. / St. Paul Academy and Summit School
Club: MN Flyers
The Minnesota native will look to make an immediate impact as he joins the Beavers for his rookie season. Bhargava's favorite event is the 100-yard breaststroke.
Aaron Dumas
San Diego / Cathederal Catholic
Club: Coronado Swim Team Elite
A talented 100 and 200-yard backstroke specialist, Dumas will stay in SoCal as he heads north to the Institute. Dumas will bring speed and strength with a host of fast times.
Thomas Fenton
Lynchburg, Va. / Virginia Episcopal School
Club: Lynchburg YMCA
Fenton will bring lots of experience to the Institute as he dons the Caltech cap. The Virginia native favors both breaststroke distances.
Anthony Wang
San Jose, Calif. / Evergreen Valley
Club: Santa Clara Dive Club
Wang will compete in the diving events upon his arrival to campus. The talented athlete's favorite event is the 1-meter springboard.
Daniel Wareham
Shanghai / Deerfield Academy
Wareham will bring strong international and high school experience to the squad in his first season; the Shanghai native favors the 100-breaststroke and the sprint freestyle.
Samuel Xie
Princeton, N.J. / The Lawrenceville School
Club: Whitewaters Swimming
Xie brings technique and a strong work ethic to Pasadena as he takes on competition as a Beaver. The rookie's favorite events are the 100-yard and 200-yard butterfly.
Alvin Zhang
Bellevue, Wash. / Lakeside School
Club: Bellevue Club Swim Team
Zhang will look to make an immediate impact to the Beavers in individual and relay races. A sprint specialist, he will compete in a number of events this season.
The program will look to build on its substantial achievements from 2023-24 with the addition of these eight rookies. The incoming Beavers will join a host of significant returners as the team looks to break more school records and earn a top-4 finish at the SCIAC Championships for the fourth consecutive season.
