Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

Mission Statement:

The mission of the Caltech SAAC is to increase visibility and support of intercollegiate athletics within the greater Caltech community, encourage community support in athletics, and promote communication between the varsity sport teams and athletic administration.

SAAC Member Responsibilities:

1. Meetings held once a month or as needed with SAAC representatives from each varsity team and a SAAC advisor; an Athletic department administrators may also attend.
2. Promote one athletic event for each sport.
3. SAAC officers will represent Caltech at the conference (SCIAC) level.
4. Organize and carry out at least one community service project per term involving Caltech student-athletes in general or members of SAAC.
5. Elect chair or co-chairs, vice-chair, and secretary.

Level Up Talks

The Level Up series created in 2022 is aimed at educating student-athletes on topics that allow them to make the best decisions for their own physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing, in and out of season. Student-athletes have different responsibilities and extra commitments that add to their load as a college student. Level Up subjects are suggested by student-athletes, focusing on topics that directly affect them and aim to help them navigate the student-athlete experience in the best way possible.
