- Yes, in accordance to our Supervision of Minors Policy.
- Can I swim in the rain?
- All outdoor activities will be canceled immediately in the event of severe or ongoing inclement weather. Inclement weather is defined as:
- Rain. Moderate to heavy sustained rain. The standard is that lifeguards must be able to see all underwater aspects of the pools for safety supervision.
- Thunder or Lightning. Thunder or lightning within an 8 mile range or from the last time it is seen or heard. Activity will be halted for at least 30 minutes or until the thunder and lightning activity are out of the 8 mile range. This policy is in place to protect our staff and member safety.
- Excessive Heat. When there is an increase of ambient air temperature or humidity, turf thermometers and the NWS Heat Index will be used to assess the potential danger of outdoor strenuous activity.
- Poor Air Quality. When the local air quality is poor (fire, smog, high pollen counts or other environmental hazards), we will continually evaluate the air quality to determine whether the fields remain operational.
