SCIAC USER GUIDE: SCIACtv/FLOSPORTS AGREEMENT
The SCIAC has entered into a five-year agreement under which FloSports will become the exclusive media rights partner of the SCIAC and its member institutions starting in the 2024-25 academic year. FloSports will distribute live and on-demand content for regular season and conference championships in all 21 sports sponsored by the SCIAC, along with a robust editorial and social programming calendar that will highlight the many athletes who compete in the conference.
How do I access live streams?
FloSports is a subscription-based service that is accessible via the FloSports mobile app and is available on popular digital and streaming services, including Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Google Chromecast and ROKU.
What is included with a FloSports account?
A FloSports account provides access to all 21 SCIAC sport regular and postseason events at the conference’s nine members institutions, as well as all FloSports live and on-demand content and events. Subscriptions created on a specific FloSports sport platform (i.e. FloVolleyball, FloTrack) will give users access to ALL CONTENT on the entire FloSports platform. Institutions retain streaming rights for clubs and sports that are not sponsored by the conference and will continue to determine their own method of distribution.
How much does a FloSports subscription cost?
Comparable to other streaming services, those who sign up through the conference landing page will have a subscription cost of $14.99 a month or $99.99 a year ($8.33/month). Students who register with a SCIAC member institution .edu email address will receive a discounted monthly rate of $9.99 or $69.99 a year ($5.83/month). A standard FloSports subscription costs $29.99 a month or $150 for the year ($12.50/month). Subscriptions can be purchased month-to-month (and can be canceled at any time) to provide flexibility for fans depending on what season the sport(s) they are interested in viewing occurs.
How will I access contests?
Users will have the choice to log into your FloSports account directly and navigate through their platform, or go through their institutional SCIACtv portal (which will redirect to the FloSports platform) as is currently the case.
Free, publicly viewable archives will be made available 72 hours after contests at the discretion of host institutions on their institutional platforms through the
SCIAC Digital Network, where all games still will be archived.
Will teams and fans still be able to capture and share live content?
Institutions and attendees at contests will still be permitted to capture and share brief portions of contests within the 72-hour window of exclusivity, after which there will be no prohibition.
