Wyatt Meyring was the assistant coach of the Caltech Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track & Field Teams from 2022-2025.

Entering his third season with the Beavers, he continued to make a significant impact. Beavers coached under Meyring have achieved 4 school records and 20 Caltech All-Time Top 10 individual performances.  
 
Meyring guided Daniel Amelinez-Robles and Ezra Johnson to share the podium together in the men’s discus throw placing second and third, the first time Beaver throwers have shared the SCIAC podium since 1944. Amelinez-Robles’ 2nd place finish was the highest men’s discus finish at Caltech since 1975. Meyring also coached Megan Robertson to a second-place finish in the hammer throw, the highest women’s hammer conference finish in school history. Meyring and Robertson rewrote more history, capturing three school records in the women’s hammer, weight throw, discus throw, and the second furthest shot-put throw recorded at Caltech.  

At the 2024 SCIAC Track & Field Championships, Beaver throwers coached by Meyring scored 26 out of 52 total points scored, the highest men’s team score at Caltech since 1992. On the women’s side, Beavers coached by Meyring scored 19 out of the 36 total points scored. Meyring was a 2024 USTFCCCA West Regional Division III Assistant Coach of the Year finalist.  In cross country, Meyring was part of the 2023 SCIAC Men’s Cross Country Coaching Staff of the Year, led by head coach Kelli Blake. Wyatt serves as the primary recruiting coordinator for the track & field teams and is a certified throws and strength and conditioning specialist through the USTFCCCA.  
 
Prior to Caltech, Meyring spent four seasons assisting the Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track & Field Teams at Central Washington University. While at CWU, he led the Wildcat throwers to eight individual titles in the GNAC Conference, one GNAC record, and one NCAA All-American in the Women’s Indoor Shot Put. The weight and hammer throwers collected five individual conference titles along with the men sweeping the podium in the hammer throw at the GNAC 2021 Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Over his tenure at CWU, the Wildcat throwers accomplished 13 NCAA Division II Provisional Qualifying Performances, 24 NCAA Division II All-West Region Student-Athletes, and USTFCCCA EventSquad Rankings inside the top 15 with the men's weight and hammer throwers amongst the top 10 (sixth and eigth). While with the Wildcats, Meyring impacted the team with his vivid goal of creating a positive team culture and his persistent encouragement and leadership.  
 
Meyring has a diverse background in track & field, starting his collegiate athletic career at Clackamas Community, in Oregon City, under coach Dan Barley. He then transferred to Washington State University where he competed for three years in the PAC-12 under coach Julie Taylor. Meyring placed fourth at the 2017 PAC-12 Outdoor Track & Field Championships and competed in the 2018 NCAA West Preliminary Round in the hammer throw. Meyring was awarded 'Most Inspirational', and 'True Cougar Award' his senior year in 2018. He completed his undergraduate degree with a Bachelors in Sociology. Meyring’s enthusiasm and passion for the sports, along with his diverse experience competing and coaching at various levels in the NCAA have shown significant impact within a short amount of time on the Caltech Cross Country and Track & Field Teams.Â
