Collin Murphy begins his second season on the men's basketballcoaching staff.
Coach Murphy’s responsibilities include recruiting,practice and game preparation, alumni relations, and advancedanalytics.
The native of Wasilla, Alaska graduated from Caltech in 2013with a degree in computer science. A stalwart in the Beavers’line-up during his time with the program, he played in all 100games and earned the start in 79 contests. A strong guard known forhis gritty play, he averaged 3.4 rebounds and one steal per gameover his career. As a senior, he shot 41 percent from the floor and38 percent from the 3-point line.
He served as a team captain during his sophomore, junior, andsenior seasons and was awarded the department Director’sAward. During his career he interned at the Jet PropulsionLaboratory, managed the late night coffeehouse, worked foradmissions, served as a SAAC member, and contributed to severallocal and national blogs. He now works for a local startup inPasadena.
