Strong Offense Leads LaSierra Past Caltech

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – In a non-conference women's volleyball match-up the LaSierra Eagles posted a .337 team hitting percentage en route to a 3-0 (25-9, 25-13, 25-18) overall Caltech on Saturday evening.

The Eagles recorded a team hitting percentage of .423 and .357 respectively in the opening two games in jumping out to a 2-0 advantage. Caltech fought back in the third game but couldn't overcome the Eagles.

Leading the way for the home squad was Samantha Arriaran who posted 13 kills and a .407 hitting percentage on 27 attempts. Paula Hernandez tallied nine kills and a .471 hitting percentage for LaSierra (9-8).

First year Paige Logan was again led the Caltech (1-14) offense with a seven kill performance. It is the seventh time this season the native of Los Altos, Calif. had led the squad in kills. Ying Ying Tran and Megan Jackson each had a team high eight digs.
