PASADENA, Calif. – An all around effort by
ClaremontMuddScripps led them to a 74-37 victory over Caltech
Saturday evening in a SCIAC women's basketball match-up.
For the Athenas (13-3, 3-2) 10 different played at least 10
minutes and nine separate players scored at least four points in
the win.
In the opening half Hoi Yee Nam gave
the Beavers (0-16, 0-5) a 10-8 lead when she nailed a running
lay-up with 14:46 left in the session. ClaremontMuddScripps
responded by scoring 12 unanswered points in taking a 20-10
advantage just past the midway point of the frame. Caltech fought
back with back-to-back jumpers by Lisha Li to cut their
deficit to six points.

Starts Second Half with Jumper
The Athenas control the rest of the stanza. The visitors
finished the half by scoring 19 of the half's final 22 points in
taking a 39-17 lead into halftime.

Hoops jumper to start the second half got Caltech's deficit
down to 20 points. However, ClaremontMuddScripps all but put the
game away with 13 consecutive points to push their lead to 52-19
with 17:35 left in the contest.
Taylon Johnson led all scorers with a 17-point effort on the
strength of a 5-for-6 shooting night. Kalika Tullock and Cameron
Ruby scored 11 and 10 points respectively to aid in the visitors
cause.

Logan posted team highs for Caltech in rebounds (11) and points
(9) off the bench.
