Chapman Holds Down Caltech in Three Set Win

PASADENA, CA – In their first trip to Braun Athletic Center, the Chapman women's volleyball team came away with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-7, 25-12) over Caltech on Friday evening.

Chapman jumped out to big leads to start the first and second set in helping them taking a 2-0 lead in the match. In the third set, the first 20 points saw three lead changes and five ties before the Panthers grabbed control. Leading 11-9, Chapman scored nine of the next 12 points en route to taking the set and sweeping the match.

Val Geiger, the reigning NCAA Division III Player of the Week, had a match high eight kills to pace the Chapman effort. As a team the visitors hit .431 with 31 kills on 58 attempts with just six errors.

Catherine Jamshidi had a team best seven kills for the Beavers.
