Beavers Block Well But Fall to Redlands

REDLANDS, CA – The Caltech volleyball team started SCIAC play on the road on Thursday evening at the University of Redlands.

The home standing Bulldogs claimed a 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-12) win.

Redlands played steady and spread around their offense as eight different players had at least two kills. Ariana Scott's seven kills led the Bulldogs offense.

The front line play of the Beavers was a bright spot as Caltech played their second straight road match to open the season. Catherine Jamshidi had two block assists to go with a block solo as the Beavers tallied 7.0 total team blocks. Rebekah Kitto and Connie Hsueh each had three block assists.

Jamshidi and Paige Logan each had a team high four kills.

The two teams will play on Friday evening at Caltech. The home opener for the Beavers is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
