Box Score

PASADENA (Oct. 19, 2018) – Freshman setter Alexandra Frymire (Dallas, Texas / Greenhill) continued her strong rookie campaign for the Caltech volleyball team by notching 21 assists in Friday evening's home clash with the University of La Verne.

Frymire set up classmate Alison Noyes (Falmouth, Maine / Falmouth) and sophomore Isabel Yang (Arcadia, Calif. / Arcadia) for six kills apiece while also contributing two kills herself on just seven total attacks. As a whole, the Beavers has a solid outing in front of the net, out-blocking the Leopards, 10-6. Noyes had a hand in one assisted block and one solo block while fellow 6-foot-1 freshman Sydney Richardson (Granite Bay, Calif. / Roseville) contributed in a big way with three assisted blocks. Caltech saw chances to jump out to leads in both the first and second sets, trading points with La Verne in both frames up until the mid-way point.

Head Coach Tom Gardner and the Beavers will have one match on the road tomorrow at first-place Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges before returning home for Senior Day next week.
