Vetrivel, Canamas Recognized on Senior Night

Box Score

PASADENA (Oct. 23, 2018) – The Caltech volleyball team recognized two of its statistically best seniors to play under Head Coach Tom Gardner in Sakthi Vetrivel (Redmond, Wash. / Overlake School) and Claudia Canamas (West Palm Beach, Fla. / Oxbridge Acad.) before Tuesday night's final home match of the season against the University of Redlands.

Both players received the start for Caltech and one of the match's best moments saw the two seniors combining on an assisted block in the first set. Two of their teammates, junior Lauren Li (Bellaire, Texas / Bellaire) and freshman Alison Noyes (Falmouth, Maine / Falmouth) each hit the 10-kill mark, the first time this season multiple Beavers have hit double-digit kills in a three-set match. Freshman Allie Frymire (Dallas, Texas / Greenhill) carried the Beavers in assists (27) and classmate Megan Wang (Henderson, Nev. / Advanced Technologies Academy) had a big game at libero with 21 digs.

Gardner and the Beavers will end their season on the road at Occidental College on Oct. 27 at 4 p.m.
