Yang Reaches 10 Kills Against Regals

Box Score

PASADENA (Sept. 21, 2018) – Sophomore outside hitter Isabell Yang (Arcadia, Calif. / Arcadia) became the first Caltech player to hit double-digit kills in a SCIAC match when the volleyball team took on visiting California Lutheran University on Friday evening.

Yang's 10 kills helped the Beavers, particularly in the first set when the hosts challenged the Regals late into a back-and-forth set. Caltech led as late into the set as 23-22 before ultimately running out of gas. Freshman setter Alexandra Frymire (Dallas, Texas / Greenhill) led in the assists department with 15 and freshmen Megan Wang (Henderson, Nev. / Advanced Technologies Academy) and Hannah Fan (Saratoga, Calif. / Saratoga) picked up 12 and 10 digs respectively.

Head Coach Tom Gardner and the Beavers will head to the University of La Verne tomorrow for a 4 p.m. match.
