THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (Feb. 19, 2020) – The Caltech women's basketball team had four starters score at least 10 points at California Lutheran University on Wednesday evening.
Senior forward Alexa Lauinger (Ortonville, Mich. / Brandon) led by shooting 50-percent from the field en route to yet another double-double showing (11 points, 11 rebounds). Lauinger and the Beavers showed their superiority on the offensive glass with nearly half of the visitors' rebounds coming on second chances. Freshman forward Charley Lafayette (Toronto, Ontario, Can. / Branksome Hall) got the start and responded with six offensive boards of her own. Meanwhile, senior guard Grace Peng (San Ramon, Calif. / California) had 11 points and four assists, freshman forward Sahana Saikumar (Arcadia, Calif. / Arcadia) had 12 points and six rebounds and freshman guard Helen Siavelis (Arlington Heights, Ill. / Prospect) scored 10 points and knocked down a pair of three-pointers.
Head Coach Bridgette Reyes and the Beavers will look to close the season on a high note when they host Chapman University on Senior Day, set to take place this Saturday, Feb. 22 at 4 p.m.
