Box Score CLAREMONT, Calif. (Jan. 15, 2022) – Caltech women's basketball continued its SCIAC campaign on the road Saturday against the Pomona-Pitzer Colleges Sagehens and the Beavers kept pace with the hosts in a back-and-forth first quarter.
Junior Sahana Saikumar (Arcadia, Calif. / Arcadia) put Caltech on the board on the first possession with a layup to answer Pomona-Pitzer's opening basket. After another tie, Saikumar assisted freshman Katherine Marquis (Tewksbury, Mass. / Phillips Academy Andover) on a jump shot for another two-point lead. The Sagehens then pulled ahead by six points, but a clutch Marquis three cut Caltech's deficit in half just before the midway point of the opening frame.
Sophomore Milan Robinson (Anaheim, Calif. / Fairmont Prep) dropped in a couple minutes later to give Caltech its last lead, thanks to Marquis' assist following a steal by freshman Kathryn Edwards (Centennial, Colo. / Arapahoe).
