SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – Caltech Men's Basketball commenced their longest-distance road trip of the season Saturday afternoon to face the Linfield University Wildcats in their first of two games at the UCSC Classic.
Whlie Linfield pulled away after the Beavers rallied to tie the score four times, the team kept fighting to the finish and pulled off some impressive offensive and ball control stats. Caltech out-rebounded Linfield 48-32, including a whopping 22-5 margin on offensive rebounds, which the Beavers converted into 15 second chance points compared to the Wildcats' four.
Chase Pagon tallied a team-high 15 points, adding 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the season, also dishing out a couple assists, a block and a steal.
Riley Wood picked up 11 rebounds, seven of them on offense, and he led both teams in the steals column with three.
And with 14 points and game highs of 12 rebounds and three blocks,
Pavlos Stavrinides picked up his second double-double; he has tallied double-digit point figures in every game so far this season.
