Caltech Women's Basketball Takes On Redlands Bulldogs

REDLANDS, Calif. – Caltech Women's Basketball faced SCIAC rival University of Redlands Wednesday night at Currier Gym, putting forth a solid effort against a tough Bulldog squad.

Senior Claire Perhach (Carlsbad, Calif. / Sage Creek) struck first with a jumper in the paint on the Beavers' first possession, followed by three-pointers by juniors Kodie Vondra (Livingston, Mont. / Park) and Kathryn Edwards (Centennial, Colo. / Arapahoe). Redlands battled back to an 8-8 tie before senior Milan Robinson (Anaheim, Calif. / Fairmont Prep) splashed a couple threes of her own.

In the second quarter, senior Hope Arnett (Torrance, Calif. / Chadwick School) joined the three-point party with a trio of triples, and Edwards followed with one more as the Beavers held even with the hosts until halftime. Caltech found more success with inside shooting during the third quarter, scoring 12 of 14 points on field goals in the paint.

Edwards led both teams with 18 points, six assists and four steals, also grabbing a team-high eight rebounds, bringing her career total to 493 boards after recently surpassing 1000 career points.
Arnett followed with nine points, three rebounds, and assist and a steal. Vondra dished out a trio of assists in her 38 minutes on the floor.
