PASADENA, Calif. – The Caltech men's tennis team won its fourth match in a row, taking down the Colby College Mules 5-4 in a cool, breezy Friday afternoon contest.
Making a statement early and quickly, the Beavers took all three doubles matches and gained valuable momentum heading into the singles session. Making quick work of their Doubles #3 opponents were
Tejas Ram () and
Andrew Zabelo, swiftly posting an 8-2 win.
Court 1 finished next, as the senior duo of
Kyle McCandless () and
Daniel Wen () pulled out an 8-5 win, and shortly thereafter it was
Andrei Staicu () and
Eric He who grinded out an 8-6 set score. The reliable pairing has now won seven of their nine doubles matchups this year.
Eric He quickly responded to the guests picking up the first singles point by downing his rival in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-2.
Finally, it was Wen who earned the deciding match point on Court 4, catching fire after a 6-4 first set win with a 6-0 clincher. Wen picked up his fifth consecutive singles victory and seventh of the season.

Adam Clark and the Beavers will commence Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) play in their next match, Friday Apr. 5 against Whittier College.
