Caltech Clashes with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps

Caltech Men's Soccer battled the Stags of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in Claremont Wednesday in a thrilling bout under the lights.

The Beavers took the game to the Stags early, forcing the Stags' defense to commit a penalty in the 34th minute. Sophomore Matthew Luk (Bel Air, Md. / C. Milton Wright) capitalized on the Penalty Kick for his fifth goal of the year and a 1-0 first-half lead over CMS.

Luk's goal ties him for the team lead with five on the year and gives him 15 points in 2025, extending his team lead in that category. He is one of three different Beavers with at least 11 points on the year.

"It's nice that we have several players making big contributions on the offensive end," Head Coach Duncan Gillis said. "We don't want to overlook some of the great defensive performances we've been getting from our backs and our keepers as well."

Caltech returns home Oct. 11 to host the University of La Verne at 11:00 a.m.
