Sujit Iyer extends his left hand out of the water and is in the process of raising his right as he spreads his arms to make a save. His eyes are clearly focused on the ball in the top left of the frame which casts off droplets of water as a result of its rotation.

Caltech Nets 10 Goals Against Whittier

Caltech Men's Water Polo battled the Whittier Poets Wednesday night, posting impressive numbers on both the offensive and defensive sides of the pool.

The Beavers offense found its stride highlighted by a double hat-trick from senior Bram Schork (Villanova, Pa. / The Haverford School). His six goals match a season high regardless of opponent and are the most he has scored in a SCIAC match this season. The performance also extended his six-game goal-scoring streak. He ranks second in SCIAC with 59 goals this season.

Schork has contributed on the defensive end as well with 28 steals, the fourth most in SCIAC. Senior goalkeeper Sujit Iyer (Marietta, Ga. / Wheeler) is second on that list with 37 steals, a career-high six of them coming Wednesday night.

Iyer made a season-high 12 saves against the Poets in addition to his career high in steals for one of his best statistical performances in Caltech cap. He recently joined the 100-save club and now has 115 of them this season, the fourth most in SCIAC.

Caltech will face the Beaver alumni at Braun Pool Oct. 18 at 10:00 a.m. before resuming SCIAC play at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 7:00 p.m.
