Women's Soccer Battles Occidental

Caltech finished its home conference schedule with a rivalry matchup against the Occidental Tigers Wednesday afternoon in Pasadena.

Senior goalkeeper Sophia steven (Broomfield, Colo. / Peak to Peak Charter) earned her third consecutive start in goal and, just as she did in her first two starts, made seven saves. Steven's 184 career saves are two shy of the Caltech program record. That record is currently held by her junior teammate, Haleigh Gardner (San Ramon, Calif. / California).

First-year Shyna Kashi (Bethesda, Md. / Montgomery Blair High School) got the Beavers on the board in the 64th minute, intercepting a pass at the top of the penalty box and capitalizing with a shot to the bottom left corner.

Caltech travels to Redlands to face the University of Redlands Saturday Oct. 25 at 11:00 a.m.
