Caltech Men's Soccer battled the Sagehens of Pomona-Pitzer at home Saturday, rounding out a season of notable accomplishments for the Beavers.
For the second consecutive season, Caltech finished the year with three players who each scored at least seven goals. Sophomore Matthew Luk (Bel Air, Md. / C. Milton Wright) and senior Etienne Casanova (Saratoga, Calif. / Saratoga) tied for the team lead in goals with eight each, while senior Ishaan Mantripragrada (Saratoga, Calif. / Harker School) scored seven. Luk led the team in assists (8) and points (24).
Junior goalkeeper Ethan Hammel (Portola Valley, Calif. / Woodside) split the minutes with junior teammate Alex Crowley (Atlanta, Ga. / Paideia) against the Sagehens, just as he did nearly all season. The two put up nearly identical numbers with the former making 39 saves in 16 games and Crowley making 35 saves in 12 games.
