THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The Beavers opened up SCIAC play on the road at California Lutheran University Saturday evening, taking on a tough Regals squad.
Caltech held pace with the hosts in the opening quarter, as the game started off with an exciting six lead changes and three ties. The Beavers trailed by just one point after 10 minutes and briefly led early in the quarter break, as both teams improved their shooting percentages from the field in the second frame.
A balanced effort saw all five Caltech starters find the points column. Leading the Beavers on offense and ball control was sophomore
Zeynep Goktepe (Istanbul, Turkey / The MacDuffie School), tallying 12 points and 7 rebounds, followed closely by first-year
Isabella Lo (San Jose, Calif. / The Harker School), who scored 10 points including a pair of three-pointers.
Head Coach
Madison Quan and the Beavers will return home after a week off to face the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs on Saturday, Dec. 13.
