CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Caltech men's basketball team dropped their matchup Wednesday evening in Claremont to the Pomona-Pitzer Colleges Sagehens by a score of 93-40.
First-year guard Chase Williamson (McDonough, Ga. / Union Grove) was tied for the team-high in points for Caltech with seven. Williamson had a tough night shooting but managed to help the team by snagging seven rebounds.
Fellow first-year Stuart Florescu (Toronto, Ont. / Crescent School) also tallied seven points on the evening, pulling down two rebounds as well in the contest.
Guard Josh Balami (Woodbury, Minn. / Math and Science Academy) scored five points on the night but also grabbed 10 rebounds, leading the game and setting his career high in rebounds.
It was a rough shooting night for the Beavers in Claremont. Caltech shot just 14-58 (24.1%) from the field and just 3-20 (15%) from behind the arc. It was a turnover-heavy game for the Beavers as they turned the ball over 16 times to the Sagehens' six times.
The next game for Head Coach Dr. Oliver Eslinger and his Beavers will be on Saturday when they will travel to La Verne to take on the Leopards at 4 p.m.
