PASADENA, Calif. – The Caltech men's tennis team won its third consecutive match Thursday in a convincing 6-1 defeat of the Whitman College Blues.
The Beavers set the stage for a successful day by picking up 6-4 wins in the first and third doubles matchups. Sophomores

Constantin Cedillo-Vayson de Pradenne (Paris / Lycée Jean de La Fontaine) struck first on Court 3, extending the pair's undefeated streak to four sets.
Moments later, junior

Ram and Cedillo-Vayson de Pradenne worked off their impressive doubles win with singles wins of their own. Ram won the first set 6-3 and wouldn't let his match go to a third set, defeating his opponent 6-4 in the second. Cedillo-Vayson de Pradenne took down his opponent in straight sets, 7-5 and 6-2, to clinch the match victory for the Beavers.
The other doubles duo of He and Zabelo finished off their days with victories in singles as well. He won his 10-point tiebreaker after trading 6-3 sets with his opponent, improving his singles record to 4-2 on the season and notching his third consecutive win. "The score might be deceiving; Whitman gave us a great test today and we met the challenge well," Head Coach
Adam Clark said. "We came out with a lot of focus today, and as a result kept our foot on the gas from the beginning. Proud of these guys and the way they fought."
With the win, Caltech as a team now sits at 5-1 through their first six matches of the season and will turn their attention to #33 Grinnell College who will travel to Pasadena to face the Beavers on Friday afternoon at 4 p.m.
