LOS ANGELES – The Caltech men's tennis team faced SCIAC foe Occidental College Saturday morning.

In the #3 Doubles matchup, sophomores Tejas Ram (Allen, Texas / Allen) and Constantin Cedillo-Vayson de Pradenne (Paris / Lycée Jean de La Fontaine) picked up the 6-4 set win for their ninth victory of the season as a duo. The hosting Tigers ended up claiming the doubles point with wins on the other two courts.

Cedillo-Vayson de Pradenne then defended his No. 7 singles ITA West regional ranking with an unblemished 6-0, 6-0 win in #1 Singles to tie up the match. The dominant display was his ninth singles win of the season, fourth of conference play and fourth in a row.

Regional No. 13 and junior Andrew Zabelo (Florham Park, N.J. / Newark Academy) scored next for Caltech, putting away his opponent on Court 2 with 6-3 and 6-2 set scores.

Finally, Ram picked up his second win of the day, outlasting his rival in #4 singles for a 7-5, 6-7(3), 6-4 win, his 10th of the season to wrap up the day after Oxy had clinched a 4-3 result.

Head Coach Adam Clark and the Beavers have a week off before facing the California Lutheran University Kingsmen on Saturday, April 19 on the Caltech Tennis Courts.
