Caltech Men’s Water Polo Defeats Chaffey in Season Opener

Beaver Men's Water Polo unleashed an offensive barrage in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. Tuesday, defeating the Chaffey College Panthers 17-10 in the opening match of the season.

Sophomore Carl Crum (San Carlos, Calif. / Sacred Heart Preparatory) led all players with six points on a team-high four goals and two assists. Junior Alexi Staph (Santa Barbara, Calif. / San Marcos) orchestrated the offense with a game-high three assists as part of his four points on the day.

Senior goalkeeper Sujit Iyer (Marietta, Ga. / Wheeler) defended the cage with five saves and three steals against the Panthers, keeping the game close early.
