Caltech Women's Basketball saw several players put up impressive offensive numbers in a rivalry bout against Occidental at Caltech on Saturday.
The Beavers had three players in double figures. Sophomore Zeynep Goktepe (Istanbul, Turkey / The MacDuffie School) scored 22 points on eight-of-11 shooting while draining four of her six three-point attempts. She found a second wind with multiple made threes in the final minutes of the contest. She is now tied for the team lead in points this season with 169.
The player Goktepe is tied with for the team points lead, sophomore Kyra Phaychanpheng (Chino Hills, Calif. / Chino Hills) had 13 points of her own on Saturday against the Tigers. She also contributed 3 assists, often drawing defenders towards the free throw line before finding a cutting teammate under the basket. Sophomore Anamaria Robertson (Petaluma, Calif. / Casa Grande) led the Beavers with five assists Saturday.
First-year Isabella Lo continued her strong play of late with 13 points against Occidental. With her two steals Saturday, she now has multiple steals in three consecutive games and 10 steals over that span.
Caltech hits the road to face the Chapman Panthers Saturday Jan. 17 at 4:00 p.m. in Orange, Calif.
