Men’s Water Polo Hosts CMS

Caltech Men's Water Polo hosted the third-ranked team in the nation in NCAA Division-III when it took it Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Wednesday night in a SCIAC matchup at Braun Pool.

Junior Carl Crum (San Carlos, Calif. / Sacred Heart Preparatory) got Caltech on the board with a power-play goal in the second quarter, assisted by senior Joshua Braun (Bakersfield, Calif. / Garces Memorial). Senior Alexi Stapf (Santa Barbara, Calif. / San Marcos) followed with a goal of his own, assisted by senior goalie Shuhul Mujoo (San Jose, Calif. / Evegreen Valley). Sophomore Noah Van Beurden (Perkasie, Pa. / Pennridge High School) capped the first-half scoring with a power-play goal assisted by Stapf, then added a second goal in the fourth quarter to close out Caltech's offensive night.

Caltech split the duties in net by half. Mujoo played the first half in net, making 3 saves. Freshman Tim Zhang (Brea, Calif. / Troy High School) took over in the second half and recorded 1 save.
 
Caltech will hit the road to face Pomona-Pitzer at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10.
