Caltech Men's Basketball saw positive progressions in multiple areas in a rivalry clash against the Occidental Tigers on the road Saturday night.
First-year Dorian Glogovac (Vancouver, B.C. / St. George's School Vancouver) turned heads in the opposing gym with his 22 points against the Tigers. He shot 9-of-17 from the field and hit three of his nine three-point attempts. He turned in a confident and impressive first half marked by 14 points and two no-doubt three pointers.
Sophomore Chase Williamson (McDonough, Ga. / Union Grove) brought an energetic performance to Eagle Rock with 19 points, marking the third game in his last four that he scored at least 15. Williamson's most emphatic score game on a second half fast-break where he posterized his defender with a thunderous dunk at a full sprint. Williamson achieved his 19 points on an incredible 6-of-10 from the field. He also set up his teammates well with five assists on the night.
First-year Ryan Rodrigue (San Diego, Calif. / Santa Fe Christian) has been coming on strong of late from an offensive perspective. Coming into the night, he had set career highs in points in each of his last two games. He hit two of his six three-point attempts on Saturday, but much of his improvement was beyond the numbers. His long-range shots that missed did so just barely and looked good out of hand. The coaches on the bench repeatedly praised his shot selection during the run of play.
First-year Finnegan Fancher (Ventura, Calif. / Ventura High School) led the Beavers on the boards with nine rebounds, matching a career-high.
Caltech returns home to face Cal Lutheran Saturday, Feb. 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Braun Gymnasium in Pasadena, Calif.
