Women's Track and Field Opens Spring Season

Caltech women's track and Field achieved some notable results at the CMS Outdoor Indoor Distances Meet on Feb 7 in Claremont, Calif.  

Senior Sophia Steven had a strong day in the shotput, coming in fourth out of 13 throwers with a distance of 9.91m. She also finished seventh in the weight throw with a mark of 11.82m.  

The meet came on the heels of the season opener, the Whitworth Inland Northwest Invitational on Jan 31 in Spokane, Wash. First year Danielle Yang set a personal best 47.91 while finishing eighth in the 300m race in Spokane. She finished just behind junior teammate Isha Goswami who finished seventh with a time of 45.12. 

Caltech travels to Claremont, Calif. For the Pomona-Pitzer Salo Crenna All-Comers Meet Feb. 21 at 10:30 a.m.
