Four Caltech Women's Tennis players have earned the College Sports Communicators 2025-26 women's Tennis Academic All-District award for maintaining at least a 3.50 GPA on a 4.0 scale and competing in at least 75% of Caltech's matches.
Senior Anna Szczuka (Scotch Plains, NJ / Scotch Plains-Fanwood), sophomore Polaris Hayes (Robbinsville, N.J. / The Pennington School) sophomore Naya Kessman (Fayetteville, Ark. / Haas Hall Academy) and sophomore Aoi Kunimoto (San Diego / Rancho Bernardo) each earned the accolade.
Szczuka is a Computer Science major who was president and founder of the Girls Who Code Club in high school. She was also a National Merit Commended Scholar.
Hayes majors in Applied and Computational Math. She recently completed a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) in Caltech's Department of Planetary Science, where she worked on tracking the movement of the dust clump in the debris disc of the star Beta Pictoris.
Kessman is an Applied and Computational Mathematics major. Her classes this term include Partial Differential Equations and Discrete Mathematics, among others. She is planning an internship in sports analytics this summer.
Kunimoto is a Biology major. Her classes currently include "The Evolving Universe" and Organic Chemistry. She is involved in the Shapiro Lab at Caltech as an undergraduate researcher.
