GLENDORA, Calif. – Caltech Men's Water Polo won its third match of its last four Tuesday on the road at Citrus College riding a balanced offense to a second-half comeback victory.
Six different players scored goals for the Beavers. Senior
Justin Hong (Pasadena, Calif. / Pasadena), junior
Carl Crum (San Carlos, Calif. / Sacred Heart Preparatory) and freshman
Alexander Alexandrov (Atlanta, Ga. / Chamblee High School) each had multiple goals for the Beavers.
Caltech erupted offensively with six goals in the second half, taking the lead on back-to-back goals by Crum and senior utility
Alexi Stapf (Santa Barbara, Calif. / San Marcos) early in the third quarter. After Hong scored his second of the day with just seconds left in the third, Caltech refused to give up the momentum. The Beavers scored three more goals in the first three minutes of the fourth quarter to seal the victory. After freshman
Ethan Hale (Eugene, Ore. / South Eugene High School) found the back of the net with 5:24 remaining in the match, the Institute mounted a solid defense to close out the win.
Caltech next faces Fullerton College on the road Wednesday Sept. 16.
