Research and STEM activities
Analyzed data on pump failure, wrote a report discussing the reasons for failures in various locations across the Arabian Gulf and was involved in region-wide vessel isolation as part of an internship with Occidental Petroleum.
Designed an experiment to test leakage rates for O-rings at various compression percentages. Participated in projects for necessary FDA testing on manufactured products at Pro-Dex, a company who specializes in battery powered surgerical drivers.
Prior to Caltech
Was a three-sport athlete all four years in high school, playing baskball and volleyball as well as running in track & field…Won the Coach’s Choice Award in basketball his sophomore year after averaging 18.7 points, 13.0 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game…Twice named All-Qatar First Team and was the MVP his senior year…Two-time MVP in volleyball...Is the school record holder in the 400 meter and the 4x400 for T&F…Won the Coach’s Choice Award for Track and Field his sophomore year…Also played AAU basketball for two years under coach John Alexander…Was a Hoop Group All-Star…Named Scholar Athlete of the Year...Member of the National Honor Society...Won the Science award...Class Valedictorian...Won the Ambassador's Award...An AP Scholar.
