Member of the Harvey Mudd Formula SAE team... Conducted single-molecule biophysics research in the McCluskey Lab at Pomona College... Built a TIRF microscope and studied folding of the frameshift element in SARS-CoV-2 mRNA... Participated in various independent projects including the design and construction of a mechanical arm and a haptic-glove-controlled quadcopter drone... Currently applying for NIH behavioral science grant to study why people always apologize to their dishwasher when they open it while it’s still running...

Prior to Caltech
Athletic Honors: Played baseball and basketball at University High School in San Francisco... Four-year varsity starter in baseball... Team captain in baseball... Led baseball team in hits, home runs, and RBIs... Led pitching staff in wins, ERA, and strikeouts... Pitched a “Maddux.” Voted MVP of Northern California’s Bay Area Counties League (2022).

Personal
Taught himself to play four instruments (and is unable to resist playing Dr. Dre’s “The Next Episode” on grand pianos in stuffy hotel lobbies)... He is PADI-certified and has swum with sharks in the Galapagos and the notoriously venomous lionfish in New Zealand... He has jumped off the Jaws Bridge on Martha’s Vineyard and the Kawarau Bridge in Queenstown... Somewhat conversational in Spanish and slightly more so in English... Currently training for the 2026 World Stone Skimming Championships in Easdale, Scotland.
