Research and STEM Activities

Was invited to attend the 2023 Math Prize for Girls event where she connected with and competed against the top 250 young female mathematicians in North America... Was 1 of 32 in Canada selected for the University of Waterloo’s EMACS Workshop, where she engaged in advanced talks by the faculty of mathematics and problem-solving with peers... Conducted independent research on mathematical modeling using Fourier transform and coded a particle visualization model to simulate water jet dynamics in synchronization with sound frequencies... Conducted extensive literature review for a post-doc and assisted in data collection/analysis in research focused on efficiently converting hemicellulose to glucose through enzyme hydrolysis to improve SCOBY fermentation.

Chose Caltech because of the unparalleled opportunities to pursue innovative, cutting-edge research as an undergraduate; coming from a large high school, was especially drawn to Caltech’s tight-knit and supportive community; also appreciated being able to play volleyball at the post-secondary level, which ideally complements the institute's rigorous academics... Played on badminton team her senior year of high school.
