Portnoi joins the Beavers for his first season as a volunteer assistant coach. He is responsible for player development, practice and game preparation, and alumni relations.

A 2025 graduate of Caltech, Portnoi played in 72 games, with 24 starts, over four years. Known for his high defensive IQ and leadership, he is back on campus conducting research. An astrophysics major, Portnoi earned both NABC honors court membership and SCIAC all-academic honors.
