Flinder Boyd joined Caltech in 2021 after an extensive playing career. He is tasked with player development, team practice and game tactics, and will bring his wealth of basketball knowledge to the program.

Prior to Caltech, Boyd played for 10 professional seasons in various European leagues, including in France, Spain and Greece. Due to his parents' lineage, Boyd also played with the Great Britain national team under current Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch, winning 34 international caps. He was a key member of the 2009 Great Britain team that qualified for the European Championships for the first time in 29 years. Boyd is the current national record holder for assists in a single-game.

Raised in Los Angeles, he attended Fairfax High School where he earned All-Region honors before heading east to Dartmouth College. A sociology major and two-time team co-captain, he earned All-Ivy honors his senior year and still holds the career and single-game Dartmouth assist marks. He is also one of just three Ivy Leaguers to score at least 1000 points, dish 500 assists and record 150 steals in a career. An accomplished sports journalist, he also earned a Geography MA from Queen Mary University of London.
