Research and STEM activities
Spent the summer arfter his sophomore year as a technical writing intern with Cloudera...Optimized the recommendation engine and algorithim that determines the set and order of people that users swip on at Tinder in West Hollywood, Calif....Served a software/quality engineer internship at Zettaset. 
 

Prior to Caltech
National AP Scholar…Two-year member of the student council at his high school, Sacred Heart Prep…Won the Dark Blue Ribbon at Sacred Heart…Also was awarded the Sheila Petersen Scholarship Award from SHP…Played three years of golf…Played basketball all four years…Was named first-team All-WBAL his senior year (averaging 13 ppg and shooting almost 40% from beyond the arc) and third-team all-county the year before (averaging 10 points a game that year)…Palo-Alto Daily News Player of the Week in January of 2012…Named Team MVP for his senior year and in the same year was celebrated as Sacred Heart’s Athlete of Distinction…His team won the CCS Championship in 2011-2012 and made it to the NorCal finals…Played for KWA.
