Matt Brisotti was selected as head coach of the Caltech men's tennis team in October 2022. In just his first season, he has led the Beavers to a 5-0 start and a No. 13 national ranking.
A former team captain, conference champion, and MVP as a player, Brisotti's tennis experience spans the mainland from California to New York, ranges from private lessons and club teams to NCAA Division I, and includes work in teaching, facility management, tennis operations, and of course coaching successful intercollegiate programs. He previously coached at College of St. Elizabeth (Morristown, N.J.), Drew University (Madison, N.J.), Hamilton College (Clinton, N.Y.), University of Mary Washington (Fredericksburg, Va.), and most recently he served as the Director of Tennis Operations at Arizona State University.
Brisotti earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a Minor in Public Health from Drew University. During his time there he earned 1st team All-Conference Singles and Doubles honors while serving in the Student Athletic Advisory Committee (SAAC). His educational journey continued through Concordia University at Irvine, where he received his Master of Coaching and Athletic Administration degree. He views effective communication, a positive environment, and mutual trust and support among teammates and coaches as central to his coaching philosophy. He believes when players can communicate on a high level, it allows for the team to function at a high level, and that taking risks can foster growth in individuals and teams.
