Getting to Know ...

 1. Where would you live if you could live anywhere in the world (fictional, real, or imaginary)?

I would live in the Avatar universe and be a water bender. Because bending elements is awesome.

2. If you could be one age forever what would it be?

25 because by this age, I will have been able to apply what I learned at Caltech in the real world or at graduate school. 

3. If you could have been a child prodigy what would you have wanted to be skilled at?

I would want to be skilled at interacting with animals, specifically cats because I love cats and I want them to love me. 

4. If you were reincarnated as an animal what would it be?

A tiger, because tigers are a more fierce, powerful kind of cat.

5. What would you name your autobiography?

How I Slept Through College and Still Managed to Succeed

6. What do you miss most about being a kid?

Nap time because sleep is rare in college.

7. What was your favorite activity in gym class?

The obstacle course because there are so many fun activities to it.

8. Would you rather be really really big or really really small?

Really small so I can fit in small places. Also, I wouldn’t feel awkward about wearing really high heels.

9. What did you want to be when you were young? And now?

A veterinarian when I was young. Now, not really sure but definitely something related to biological sciences.

10. What song would you sing at karaoke night?

Pachelbel's Canon in D because there aren’t any words in it. I would just hum along.

11. Where would you not mind waiting?

Anywhere indoors with my laptop and wifi. 

12. What would you refuse to do for one million dollars?

Give away two million dollars.

13. How do you like to relax?

Listening to music, and petting my cat, Millie, or my guinea pigs, Rubick and Razor.

14. If you could dis-invent one thing, what would it be?

The snuggie, just so I could I could invent something that simple and make a ton of money.

15. What always makes you a more confident person?

Knowing that I go to one of the best schools in the world.

16. What language would you like to master?

Chinese, so I can speak to my relatives more easily. Also, so I can haggle by myself when I am at Taiwan.

17. What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod?

Forbidden Friendship by John Powell from the How To Train Your Dragon soundtrack.

18. If you could paint a picture of any scenery you’ve seen before, what would you paint?

Yosemite Valley, as seen from the top of Half Dome when I hiked the trail with my teammates, Kristin, Stephanie, and Esther.

19. If you had to work on only one project for the next year, what would it be?

My SURF project that I worked on over the past two summers, which is building capture agents to detect malaria in infected blood.

20. If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to?

Anne, because at Starbucks they always spell my name this way whether I tell them “Ann” or “Annie”. This way they won’t misspell my name anymore.

21. What story does your family always tell about you?

When I was younger and my grandma put me in the crib to take a break from looking after me, I would throw the pillows in my crib at her, so she would come back to pick me up again.

22. Where’s Waldo?

Not at Caltech, because I haven’t seen him here.
