Head Coach Bridgette Reyes is entering her third season with Caltech after quickly making her mark on the program with a series of statistical milestones in each of her first two seasons. Under Reyes' leadership, the Beavers had their first double-digit win season of all time in 2018-19, picked up a record four SCIAC wins and rewrote the team record books. Reyes also coached center Elizabeth Eiden '19 to becoming the program's first-ever First Team All-SCIAC honoree as well as its first All-Region player. Reyes' attention to detail defensively also allowed the Beavers to post their best perimeter defense numbers in the then 19-year intercollegiate history of the team back in 2017-18 before taking a collective step forward in the coming years.
Reyes became the fifth Caltech women's basketball Head Coach on May 12, 2017. The former NAIA standout spent the 2016-17 academic year as an assistant coach at Division I Loyola Marymount University, where she had a hand in all aspects of running the program, including on-court coaching, recruiting, academic monitoring and program marketing. Prior to LMU, she served as Head Coach of Bishop Montgomery High School in Torrance, Calif. for three years, over which span she was named Coach of the Year twice while leading her teams to two CIF Div 4AA Southern Section titles and State Quarterfinals. Four of her players were recognized as First Team All-Del Rey League and All-CIF 4AA, with three earning collegiate scholarships.
Following a successful playing career that included an NCAA Championship appearance with Division I Boise State, NAIA national championship title with Vanguard University (where she was named Co-National Player of the Year) and a season of professional basketball in Portugal, Reyes began her coaching career as an assistant at Vanguard from 2011-12 before spending a year at Cal State University, Dominguez Hills.
Reyes earned her bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Vanguard and went on to earn a master's in coaching and athletic administration at Concordia University, Irvine.
