Jen Clark joined the Beavers as head coach of the the women's soccer program in August of 2022; in just her first year at Caltech, Clark led the team to its highest win total in program history.
Clark's coaching vitae spans four decades, stretching from California to Maine and running the gamut from high school to club, NCAA and Olympic Development Program (ODP) experience. In her own words, she loves being a "teacher of the game," and even after leading numerous high-level programs through tremendously successful seasons, her proudest achievements involve building programs up. While serving as the head coach for Christopher Newport University (Newport News, Va.), she turned a Division III program with a .313 win percentage before her arrival into a .781 juggernaut with national prominence. She similarly led a previously sub-.500 team to a conference championship and their first-ever trip to the NCAA Playoffs in her first of two tours of duty at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
Clark earned her bachelor's degree in geography from Dartmouth University as well as a master's degree in Athletic Leadership from Castleton University (Castleton, Vt.). During her tenure with Castleton, she was named Regional Assistant Coach of the Year by National Soccer Coaches Association of America (now known as United Soccer Coaches).
Viewing every game, practice and interaction as a learning opportunity, "relentless positivity" guides Clark's coaching philosophy.
