Matt Delotto joined the Caltech volleyball staff in 2021 and has helped lead the Beavers to new heights in both years. In his two seasons at the Institute, the team has achieved two of its highest win totals in recent program history.

Delotto comes to Pasadena after spending eight years as assistant volleyball coach at Whittier College. Prior to his run at Whittier, Delotto spent several years playing volleyball in the local beach circuits.

Delotto previously played on the men’s volleyball team at the University of California, Irvine, where in 2007 he helped the team to its first NCAA National Championship title. He graduated from UC Irvine a year early with a bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Law. Prior to his time at UC Irvine, Delotto attended Long Beach City College, where he was recruited to play volleyball. While at LBCC, he won two state championships and earned associate degrees in both Administration of Justice and Liberal Arts.

More recently, he earned an associate degree in Kinesiology from LBCC and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Arizona State University after seeking out subjects more applicable to his current profession.

Delotto is excited and optimistic about the future of the Caltech volleyball program, believing the best seasons are yet to come.
