The home squad continued their momentum by tallying the first four goals in the second stanza en route to posting a 5-1 scoring edge in the second period.
The Lions put any hopes of a Caltech comeback away by posting a 4-2 scoring edge in the third quarter. Vanguard closed the game with a 2-1 advantage in the final frame.
Daniel Sexton and Brian Penserini each scored two goals to pace the Caltech offense.
