ORANGE, Calif. -- The Caltech men's water polo squad fell to Chapman 20-5 on Sunday morning at the Allred Pool in a non-conference match-up.
Adam Khan opened the scoring with his 11th goal of the season less than three minutes into the contest. The Panthers, entering the contest as the eighth ranked team in the nation, responded with four unanswered goals in taking a 4-1 lead after the first frame.
The home squad continued with four consecutive goals in the second period as they took an 8-1 advantage at haltime.
Jack Blackwood and Daniel Sexton accounted for both Beaver goals in the third period but Chapman stretched their lead by scoring six goals as the Panthers took a 14-3 lead heading into the final period.
Caltech, once again, got a goal each from Blackwood and Sexton but Chapman tallied another six-goal period in posting the win.
Ross Harper and Andrew Wilxon led all scorers with four goals each to pace the Panthers.
The meeting between the two schools was second of three schedule contests with the final game of the series coming on Oct. 21 at Caltech.
